You know, the funny thing is Chiaki probably could say love story properly. I remember hearing a few Japanese actors and actresses say the word right in the
movie, but when they were doing some interview, they'd say it differently. The way a regular Japanese person would say it I guess. In an interview for the
movie Swallowtail Butterly, actress Ayumi Ito said "sewairu tairu" instead of swallowtail. The funny part? She speaks English fluently. If you go
look at Chiaki's imdb page you'll notice that a couple of the movies are spelled differently. For example, instead of Battle Royale, it says Battoru
Royaru or something like that. I think Japanese don't understand unless you say it the way they would. The majority anyways.

Ah, thank you for the explanation.
Also Zero Gravity, I think you're right. I suppose it is what your ear is trained to
hear. Even in English, Tokyo and Kyoto are pronounced differently than in Japanese I believe.
